Death dreams are arguably the dreams from which people wake up crying the most. Seeing Your Own Death

If you see yourself dying, your soul leaving the body, or your funeral being held in your dream; it means your current identity in your waking life (your single state, your old job, your old behaviors) has died. You have changed very radically and left the old "You" behind.

Seeing the Death of a Living Person (Mother, Father, Spouse)

This is the most painful dream. Seeing a living relative die does not indicate that they will die. This dream usually means two things: Either your "relationship dynamic" with that person is completely changing (for example, your child is growing up and leaving home), or you are so afraid of losing that person in waking life (separation anxiety) that your subconscious is trying to immunize you by confronting you with this fear in the dream.

Seeing a Dead Person (Someone Who Has Already Passed Away) Alive

If you see a relative who passed away years ago alive and talking to you in your dream, it is a reflection of your deep longing for them and your need for "getting their approval". In most cultures, this situation is also interpreted as those souls coming to "protect or warn" you.
