Dreaming that you are flying by flapping your arms, gliding in the air like Superman, or leaning on an invisible force and rising from the ground is one of the most enjoyable and "magical" dream types of the human experience. Flying in a dream is the absolute symbol of the soul's release from earthly chains, stress, and gravity (responsibilities).

What determines the meaning of flying dreams is the quality of your flight:
- Enjoyable and Controlled Flight: If you are comfortably gliding in the direction you want in the sky, it means that everything in your waking life is under your control, you have achieved a very great success (promotion, passing an exam, etc.), and your self-confidence is at its peak. You have "risen above" all the problems that pull you down.
- Struggling, Flying with Fear of Falling: If you are exerting excessive effort to take off, getting stuck on electricity poles, or unable to keep your balance with the fear of "Oh no, I'm going to fall"; it shows that you have set a very high goal in your life but cannot find the strength (self-confidence) in yourself to stay at that level. The obstacles (poles/trees) are obstacles in real life.

Flying in a dream is often the most popular beginning of the Lucid Dream (being aware that you are dreaming) experience. Most people wake up within the dream saying, "Wait a minute, I am flying against gravity right now, so this is a dream!". This is massive proof of how far you can expand the limits of your mind.
Ascension in Career and Status
In traditional interpretations, flying is always a promotion, reputation, and elevation of position. It perfectly overlaps with the idiom "moving up" in society. But sometimes, it can also symbolize a psychological escapism from a completely boring and suffocating reality towards the dream world (upwards). Ascend, but do not sever your roots' connection with the soil.
